Charlie Manuel and Sam Katz had lunch at The Palm yesterday. Sam interviewed Charlie for his power lunch series in Philadelphia Magazine.

Speaking of Philadelphia Magazine, Mary K. Dougherty owner of Nicole Miller at The Bellevue (and in Manayunk) was profiled for "Receipt" in this month's issue. She revealed what she spent daily for a week and her $686 total included dough dropped at Teuscher, The Palm, and the Park Hyatt's parking garage.

Oscar winning director James L. Brooks (Broadcast News, Terms of Endearment) was in The Bellevue with his set director Jeannine Oppewall. You also know Brooks as creator of the Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show, Taxi, and Cheers, and as executive producer of The Simpsons. Oppewall created the sets for Catch Me If You Can, The Good Shepherd, and Seabiscuit among many others.

The Bellevue Tent at The Radnor Hunt Races

The Bellevue was a lead sponsor of the Radnor Hunt Races for Open Space on Saturday, May 16th. More than 200 guests visited our tent where the theme was the South of France. Proceeds from the event benefited the Brandywine Conservancy.

Sake and Sashimi at XIX

Cellar Selection Wednesday at XIX will feature Sake and Sashimi. From 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sommelier Richard Slutter guides guests through a themed tasting of five to six wines. Guests are then given the opportunity to test their wine knowledge with a blind tasting of the wines they just sampled. The person with the most correct answers wins a prize! Perfect for Wine Lovers

Wine lovers will feel right at home at XIX (NINETEEN) at Park Hyatt at The Bellevue. Sommelier Richard Slutter has introduced weekly Cellar Selection Wednesdays and a monthly Perfect Pairings Wine Dinner wine-centric events meant to educate and delight both novice and expert oenophiles. Every Wednesday from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m., Slutter guides guests through a themed tasting of five to six wines for $20. Cellar Selection Wednesdays will also include light fare from XIX Chef Marc Plessis and each week, one person will take away of bottle of one of the nights featured wines.

 XIX's Perfect Pairings Wine Dinners will be a monthly event. For $55 per person, plus tax and gratuity, diners will enjoy a meal guided by Slutter, featuring such dazzling libations as Moet Chandon Rose Nectar Imperial, Argyle Pinot Noir Reserve and Santa Julia Torrontes. A special tasting menu will highlight the qualities of each wine.
